Evan was born into the horse business. He began showing quarter horses at a very young age, along with his sister Robyn and soon they were competing at a national level. His father Bruce began insuring horses in the 70’s therefore, Evan has been around the business from a very early age. He created Kaplow Insurance Agency after he graduated college, and has seen it quickly grow into an industry leader in equine mortality, farm, and liability insurance. “Family values and service is our foundation.”

Maureen has had a life long love of animals. She has a history working with exotic animals, including hand raising large parrots, monkeys and cougars. Maureen then worked for over 25 years in the Thoroughbred Race Horse industry and traveled throughout the country working with many top industry professionals, including a Hall of Fame Trainer. She even worked at training centers and yearling sales, including the Keeneland and Saratoga sales. She was a foaling barn manager at a large world class breeding farm and eventually managed a breeding farm operation, along with her husband Steve, which was very successful, producing multiple champion race horses and the farm was awarded New York Breeder of the year during their tenure. Maureen then went on to work at JPMorgan Chase for 9 years, obtaining Securities & Insurance licenses for her role as a Business Banker. She currently also breeds Labrador Retrievers including Silver and Charcoal colors.

Amy has recently graduated cum laude from Bridgewater College, located in Virginia, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a minor in Equine Science. While at college, she was able to compete on the hunt seat IHSA team, as well as in many local Southwest Virginia Hunter Jumper Association shows, where she has had top year end placings in the Adult Equitation on the Flat, Adult Hunter division and the Randolph College Medal Finals. When not working or at the barn, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, friends and Border Collie.

Andrew has been involved with horses his entire life. He has family involved in the racing industry which is where he got the horse bug. Riding the pony horses around the farm was his favorite thing to do. Growing up in Springfield, Ohio as soon as he was able to drive Andrew began working for NRHA’s number one man, Shawn Flarida. Andrew is still showing in NRHA aged events. Knowing the insurance needs of the horse industry comes pretty easy when you are in involved in it from many aspects daily.

Amanda, a simple, Southern-blooded Yankee and Hudson Valley resident, has a passion for animals and for learning. In higher education, she graduated first from Dutchess Community College with an A.A. in Humanities and Social Sciences. She then graduated summa cum laude from SUNY New Paltz with a B.A. in English concentrated in writing and a minor in Biology. Shortly thereafter, she joined the Kaplow accounting team. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, bird-watching, and relaxing around the fire with her husband, family, and friends.

Virginia has over 40 years experience in the insurance agency arena. Prior to her career with AMS, she was a controller for two agencies. With her extensive experience in accounting and training, she has implemented, trained, and serviced more than 100 agencies, ranging from 2 users to 150 users. Along the way, she has written custom training documentation and received numerous customer service awards. She is currently an independent consultant and has proudly worked with the Kaplow family for over 15 years.
